SwimTV’s coverage of the 2021 Australian Open Water Swimming Championships has been cancelled for both Saturday and Sunday sessions, due to conservative protocols surrounding COVID-19.
A member of the technical crew confirmed to Swimming Australia’s event organisers this morning they had attended Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital on Friday 12 March.
Out of an abundance of caution, Swimming Australia has asked that person and the remaining technical crew members to isolate until further public health advice is provided.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, however the safety and wellbeing of athletes, coaches and staff is paramount.
Please note, refunds will be issued for those who have purchased a subscription to the event.
Swimming Australia also reminds those attending the 2021 Australian Open Water Swimming Championships in Coolum to check the latest information on Covid-19 hotspots issued by Queensland Health following the announcement by the Premier on Saturday morning.
